Dublin Core and Metadata Applications

De hoeveelheid informatie (op internet, maar ook daarbuiten) wordt steeds onhandelbaarder. Metadata (gegevens over gegevens) zijn een belangrijke methode om hier mee om te gaan, en informatie te verrijken. Op deze conferentie zullen metadata in het algemeen, en de zogenaamde Dublin Core (een vaste set van gegevens, zoals de naam van de auteur, de datum waarop iets gemaakt is, etc) worden doorgelicht, en zal worden bekeken hoe de verdere ontwikkeling kan worden ingezet.

International conference on Dublin Core and Metadata Applications

Academic and international participants are developing the Dublin Core, which is widely used as a metadata rule on Internet, since the international conferences started to be held in 1995.  At this 9th conference you will find presentation of research papers and tutorial seminars.

As this Tokyo Conference will be the first one to be held in Asia, it is expected to play an even more important role than past ones. It is being organized as a comprehensive conference that will include an opportunity to present research papers, to exchange opinions, to have tutorial seminars for metadata, while continuing the discussions on the development of Dublin Core. 

The conference is Organized by the National Institute of Informatics, Japan Science and Technology Corporation, University of Library and Information Science, Dublin Core Metadata Initiative (DCMI), etc.
