Rick van Rein - OpenFortress Speaker: I am an Msc and PhD in computer science, with a strong secondary background in electrical engineering. My daily work centers around two ideals for which I can be hired. The first ideal is to develop networking infrastructure, with an emphasis to cryptography. The second ideal is to improve the level of sustainability in our daily lives, for which my main focus is from my technical background. I run a company for each of those ideals, OpenFortress for crypto/infra and GroenGemak for sustainable engineering. In all my work, I try to use and develop open source. Organisation: OpenFortress develops network-infrastructure, usually with an emphasis on making cryptography generally available. We are currently developing on SIP. The recent acceptance of ZRTP for end-to-end encryption, combined with upcoming IPv6 support make it possible to finally move forward with digital telephony, and help to free that portion of the market. Talk: SIP telephony is hardly developing at the pace that it could have. The main cause appears to be that it is tied in with IPv4. To overcome this, we are developing an IPv6-only SIP service, and instead of catering to the whims of IPv4 we help to develop transitioning tools. This talk is about such tools.
